Garage door replacement cost calculator

Pick the size, the material, and your state. You get an installed cost range with the door, labor, and extras broken out.

Select your state first

Door prices are single-door ranges from Liberty Home Guard (published September 2026). A double door is priced at about twice a single door. Single-door labor is $300 to $600 (Liberty) and double-door labor $500 to $800 (cross-checked against A1 Garage), both adjusted for your state with BLS wage data. Removal, permit, and opener install are typical national ranges.

How this calculator works

The calculator starts with the door-only price range for your material. Published single-door ranges run from about $400 to $900 for non-insulated steel up to $1,200 to $5,000 or more for solid wood, and a double door is priced at roughly twice that. It then adds installation labor ($300 to $600 for a single, $500 to $800 for a double), scaled for your state using Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, and any extras you tick.

The result is an estimate, not a quote.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a new garage door cost installed?

A single door typically runs about $600 to $1,600 installed, and a double door about twice that, depending on material and insulation. Steel is the most common choice.

Is an insulated garage door worth it?

It depends on whether the garage is heated and how cold your winters are. Use the insulated door savings calculator to see the heating savings for your climate.

Does the cost include the opener?

Not by default. Tick the opener option to add a typical installation cost of $300 to $700. The opener itself is a separate purchase.
